Neighborhood Legal Services Michigan (NLSM) is an approved agency with certified MSHDA counselors and trained staff who provide homebuyer education to individuals interested in obtaining a MSHDA mortgage for their first home purchase.

This program combines down payment assistance with homebuyer education and counseling to expand access to MSHDA’s single-family mortgage loans for lower-income buyers, while also helping manage the increased risk of loan default.
